St Mary and St Giles Church of England School Recognised Nationally for Excellent Outcomes for Disadvantaged Pupils

St Mary and St Giles Church of England School part of Inspiring Futures through Learning (IFtL) has been formally commended by Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education, for its outstanding achievement in supporting disadvantaged pupils at the end of the 2024/25 academic year. The school’s performance places it among the very best nationally, highlighting the impact of high‑quality teaching, strong pupil effort, and a culture of ambition and support.
In her letter, the Secretary of State praised the dedication of colleagues and the hard work of pupils, noting that this success demonstrates what can be achieved when ambition and commitment come together. She also encouraged the school to continue sharing best practice with other schools, championing collaboration and excellence across the education sector.
St Mary and St Giles welcomes prospective parents and carers to consider enrolling their children for the upcoming academic year. The school operates across two well‑resourced sites:
North Site: Years 3 to 6 at King George Crescent, Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes, MK11 1EF (currently admitting Year 3 pupils).
South Site: Reception through Year 6 (including Nursery) at Galley Hill, Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes, MK11 1PA.
Both campuses provide a nurturing and inclusive environment rooted in Christian values, encouraging academic growth, confidence, and community spirit. The South Site offers early years through Key Stage 2 education, while the North Site supports children joining at Year 3, ensuring continuity of learning and strong pastoral care throughout the primary years.
Adam Palmer, Headteacher, said: “We are proud of our pupils and colleagues whose combined dedication has led to this national recognition. We also warmly invite families to join our vibrant school community, where every child is known, supported, and encouraged to thrive.”
Admissions information, including how to apply for Reception and Year 3 entry, is available via Milton Keynes City Council’s coordinated admissions process. Places are offered based on published criteria and applications should be submitted through the council’s Citizen Portal during the admissions window.
St Mary and St Giles is committed to continued excellence for all pupils and looks forward to welcoming new families as part of its growing community.
