Inspiring Future Learners at School Meeting.

Rickley Park Primary School in Bletchley welcomed Callum Anderson MP (Buckingham & Bletchley) this week for a visit that placed pupil voice at the forefront. The visit provided an opportunity for representatives from the school’s youth parliament and pupil parliament to showcase the impact they are making across their community.

Led by the Ivanna youth parliament president and Dougie the vice president, Mr Anderson was taken on a guided tour of the school before joining a round-table conversation with the youth parliament representatives and pupil parliament members. Learners spoke confidently about the initiatives they have championed, the improvements they have helped shape, and the way their ideas are shared with senior leadership for discussion and next steps.

The pupils highlighted how their work enables them to make their school an even better place for all learners. They emphasised the responsibility they feel in representing their peers and ensuring that every voice in the school has a path to being heard.

During the meeting, the youth parliament president said: “We want everyone in our school to feel proud, happy, and listened to. When learners tell us what would make their experience better, we take those ideas seriously and work together to make things happen.”

The vice President added: “It meant a lot to speak with Mr Anderson. It shows that the work we do matters beyond our school, and it encourages us to keep making positive changes.”

Other pupil representatives shared their reflections, noting:
“We’re proud that we can help improve our school.”
“Being part of the school council gives us confidence to speak up.”
“Working with our Headteacher and senior leadership in our school helps us understand how decisions are made and how we can make a difference.”

Following the pupil discussions, Mr Anderson met with Headteacher, Nicole Bramwell, who outlined the school’s priorities and the ways in which external support can strengthen opportunities for pupils and the wider community.

Nicole Bramwell said:
“It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Anderson. Our pupils speak with passion, clarity, and integrity about the things that matter to them. Their leadership makes our school stronger, and we value every opportunity to amplify their voices.”

Mr Anderson commented:
“I was incredibly impressed by the dedication and maturity shown by the pupils at Rickley Park. Their commitment to improving their school is inspiring, and I look forward to supporting their continued efforts.”

The visit highlights Rickley Park Primary School’s strong commitment to empowering pupils as active contributors to school life, ensuring their ideas help shape the future of their learning environment.
