“What a year it’s been in the life of this project! Having been awarded the new all-through school at Glebe Farm in February 2020, work started on the design of the building in March, just as the country went into its first lockdown. Consequently, I think we can probably claim the title of the first school in the region to be designed completely through remote working! There are still some design stages to come, getting more and more of the details refined, but we have just reached the exciting stage of actually seeing some action on the site itself from 23rd February 2021 – an incredible milestone in the journey. We’ll be able to update you with pictures and regular drone footage of the build as these become available over the next 20 months.
Thank you to everyone that has been so generous in sharing knowledge and thoughts into the design process, there are many of you across the Trust and also within 5 Dimensions, a secondary Trust in Milton Keynes whose support we have enjoyed. Bringing this building to life is of course the really exciting next step with many opportunities to be involved as this develops. It would be great also to ensure that our children are able to be involved as much as possible – we had some lovely and thoughtful entries to the children’s Glebe Farm design competition and these will, amongst other things, be printed onto the safety hoardings on-site so the growing residential community around Glebe Farm will start to see the personality of the Trust through these children’s work as the school is built”
