Facilitated by Hannah Crawford and Dan Marshall
Give a teacher a strategy, they teach well for a day.
Show a teacher why it works, they teach well for life.
Impact and Benefits:
In these sessions, we will explore the theory behind the everyday strategies employed by outstanding classroom practitioners. Delegates will leave with an understanding of key research and educational theories and how these can be applied to the classroom setting. They will have the opportunities to link these theories to classroom practice in their own schools and examine the impact this has.
This course is suitable for classroom teachers who wish to improve their practice as well as leaders responsible for improving teaching and learning at either school, subject or phase level.
Scope of this CPD:
Session One (Thursday, 13 January 2022) will explain how children learn and examine the current research and theories that underpin many of the most effective pedagogical strategies.
Session Two (Monday 21st March 2022) will link theory to practice, through real-life examples and then exploring current practice in delegate’s schools. Delegates will leave with a plan as to how best to use research to improve their own practice and, where appropriate, that of others.
Session Three (Monday 23rd May 2022) will explore the impact the theory informed practice can have on learning across the school.
School Commitment required for this CPD:
