Pupil Support – 4 date course

This course is aimed at SENCOs, Pupil Premium Leads, EAL Leads, Core Curriculum leads and is being facilitated by Becky Skillings.


This course will be essential if it has been identified by the school as a key area of development from the School Evaluation of Pupil Support. The school must have the desire to further develop a range of teaching quality first teaching strategies in the classroom for SEND/PP/ EAL pupils. The course will require a whole school commitment with a leaders in school driving the developments across all curriculum subjects. The school must dedicate the time to review current practice and embed strategies, completing gap tasks between the delivered sessions.

Scope of this CPD

1 – Workshops exploring the available research that can impact practice in closing the gap for disadvantaged pupils with a gap task- suitable for PP Leads, Core subject leads, Phase leads, SENDCOs

2 – Workshop exploring effective Implementation of interventions based on the research – PP leads, phase leaders

3 – Workshop exploring gathering outcomes evidence to demonstrate impact – PP leads

4 – Pupil Premium Strategy evaluation and writing session PP leads and finance leads

Impact and Benefits of this CPD

Teachers to be confident adapting to the needs of all pupils in the classroom maximising the reasonable adjustments to ensure success. Leaders to be confident in training staff and monitoring impact. Children’s learning, behaviours and progressed are impacted positively.
