High quality environments & OFSTED – 4 Date course.
This course is aimed at EYFS Leaders, and is being facilitated by Sarah Armitage & Kirsty Outtram.
Attendees should be Early Years leaders prepared to attend 4 sessions, completing practical tasks between sessions. An opportunity to meet other EYFS leads, build and share their subject knowledge and understanding of Early Years pedagogy and principles and use this to improve the quality of their learning environments. This will then build towards an audit of their own learning environment and a session focussed on writing an EY SEF or action plan.
Scope of this CPD
1- Face to face session focussing on what a high quality EYFS environment should look like and what should be provided for children to learn effectively and to promote high levels of engagement.
2- Remote session focussing leading you through how to audit your learning environment. This will lead into and support you with your gap task.
3- Session based in your own school- delegates will be paired up and will carry out a learning audit walk in their own environment and with one other school. SLEs to support with this.
4- Face to face session focussing on how to use your audit to complete your EY SEF and action plan, baaed around the OFSTED framework.
School Commitment required for this CPD
Each face to face session is designed to take two and a half hours, with gap tasks to be completed between sessions. Gap Tasks are exercises designed to embed the learning in their specific setting and gather evidence. These will inform the sessions and so it is vital they are completed.
Impact and Benefits of this CPD
Early years leaders will be confident in monitoring the effectiveness of their own learning environment. They will be able to use this to inform their EY SEF and create a specific, detailed action plan that will have impact.
